Essential reading for arts students I’ve read my fair share of ‘how to write about art’ books and this ranks as one of my favorites. I used it as a PhD student and now I recommend it to my juniors and seniors. It’s clear, concise, well sectioned and you can dip in and out of it.
would recommend reading this for my art history class. excellent text, very helpful for someone new to writing about art. accessible, with reference essays, and the writer’s tone is inclusive and not at all condescending.
