Large book- mostly European art Pros: It’s a large & thick book with a lot of content inside.Cons: Majority of the book is classical/European/Renaissance art- if you enjoy more impressionism and/or 20th century art I would recommend a different book. This book also arrived damaged with a large tear down the front cover.
Incredible narrative of art through the ages! For any art or history enthusiast this book is incredible. I bought this book when I started painting to learn about different styles of painting and how they evolved and it was beyond what I expected. You get a breakdown from the stone ages until now of artists, paints, and styles throughout the course of history in a detailed time frame. Beautiful pictures of works and descriptive detail make this book an excellent read.
