Truly inspiring! I honestly bought this book initially because I knew the co author from back in high school & wanted to support his first effort at publishing. I knew he had a remarkable gift in storytelling & recreating scenes for his readers. HOWEVER… I must say… Grace’s story had me reeled in from the beginning! The inspiring story of a “can-do” mountain biker with MS tackling the insanely tough Tour Divide First of all, this is NOT a book with exhaustive details of what is needed for a weeks-long “bikepacking” trip. There are mentions of the extensive research, preparation, and outfitting required for such a trip, but the focus is on the ACTUAL JOURNEY, which of course is a daunting physical and emotional experience. Enthralling, Grace is so worthy of our admiration The amount of personal determination, motivation, and drive that these riders display is amazing. And most of them don’t even have to start, or they wouldn’t start, with the health issues that Grace faces daily. Such an incredible undertaking. And, the writing flows from moment to day, thought to introspection, and adventure to journey. Most people would never challenge themselves to this level. Grace is such an incredible role model. A must read in determination.
