Great read and very informative This book clearly lays out the stock buying process and what you should look for and stay away from. Obvious the secret to getting rich is not in here as the stock market is a gamble, but for someone who knew nothing at all about the stock market this was a very easy and informative read. Great starting point and it mentions books and place to go for further education.

It serves as a good primer on how to judge a company’s stock It serves as a good primer on how to judge a company’s stock, and covers the basics of investing and terminology. But he really emphasizes stock picking, despite the fact that stock picking is a pretty discredited investing strategy. The writing is also very redundant. Read this to learn the abc’s, then read any other book to learn actual investing strategies.

GREAT PRIMER! I usually don’t bother to write reviews, but I was so impressed with this one that I felt I had to share. I generally like the Dummies books. They usually accomplish their goal of explaining a topic in easy to understand terms, and this is important to me. I found this to be very true for this book. I knew nothing about the stock market and figured it was about time to find out. This book explained not only the basics but even some more advanced concepts in a very easy to understand manner…
