User friendly writing style helps all I recently read Jim’s book to reinforce what I’ve read before. However, his style of writing is so much clearer for all photographers, but especially beginners, that I highly recommend it to anyone in photography! Having just returned from a trip where I took lots (too many?) of photos, I decided to finally jump into Lightroom, based on his recommendation. His step by step instructions for doing a quick edit on landscape resulted in results I had not had prior. Again, his user friendly writing…

Excellent Beginning If you are just starting out in photography you can’t beat this book to help you get started. I have read several web articles, a couple of books and have taken an internet class. None helps the beginner more than this book.

A solid foundation! I wish someone would have given me this book when I was starting out with digital photography. You can find all of the information in this book, but you’ll have to look all over the web to find it. Jim lays out the information in a concise and easy to follow method and gives the reader tools to be successful. I like the tips for Adobe Lightroom. When I first got lightroom, there were so many adjustments to be made and difficult to know where to start. This book gives a great starting point that…
