when all hope is gone, read & follow this book! I have read approximately 30 books on food, dieting, not dieting, body wisdom, intuitive eating, etc. Through years of trying many of the suggestions in those books, I finally realized that, yes, I have a major problem with eating normally, & the ONLY way to be sane/normal regarding food is to treat my overeating like an addiction. There is help and it is in this book I love this book – I’m half way through and already I have a firm definition of what abstinence is to me; and I’m living this definition one day at a time. I feel so glad to have found this recovery workbook. Becky has been there, and she knows the pain of yo yo weight loss and weight gain. I didn’t know for sure if there was such a thing as “comfortable abstinence”, until now. I am so grateful I can add this book to my library – knowing that it really works- when I do what it suggests. Exactly what I needed I hadn’t even realized how crazy my dieting had gotten until I read this.The guilt of binging, the obsession with controlling while dieting, being depressed all day if I hadn’t succeeded.I have been in recovery for a month now thanks to this book and I feel sane again.
