We are so far removed from foods in their natural states that we now call them “health foods”, a sad admission that we’ve compromised our health for the sake of convenience. The Science of Skinny aims to create a space for change – to educate and enlighten listeners on the value of proper nutrition so they can find a healthier and more life-affirming relationship with their bodies and the food they eat.

I have concerns Early on she talks about a “God-shaped hole” and then indicates in another section that there is no way that seeds could have evolved naturally, that they were clearly designed.How would fruits and vegetables reproduce without seeds? Can you trust the science of someone who doesn’t understand biology?I think much of the nutritional information makes sense, but I’m a little worried about trusting a scientist who rejects evolution.

great information! This book has so much information on additives and preservatives, vitamins and minerals, etc…. The author was a chemist and brings a lot of her perspectives from this point. She was also overweight and talks about how she came to lose the weight and what affects the different things in our processed food had on her. Much more including some recipes……great information!

Find your health again This book has been great! The easy-to-understand explanations of often complex food nutrition science has made it much easier for me to begin changing the way I purchase, prepare, and eat food. I’ve wanted to finish reading the “science” before I really get into McCaffrey’s cookbooks, which I also bought. This is an excellent book to help non-biochemistry laymen understand what healthy food used to be, what it has become through manipulation by “food scientists,” and how to…
