Useful for pre-trip planning, but take different guidebook(s) on trip Just returned from a trip to Greece, and I used my five-year-old Frommer’s guide much more often than this guide, which, in retrospect, was not worth the heft. Good very basic general overview of locations, but this guide would probably be more useful for deciding where to go in Greece before a trip than for practical, on-the-ground info in country. To be fair, there are so many wonderful sites and sights in Greece that any comprehensive guide is going to suffer by trying to touch on it all…

Did not give the information I needed I am currently on a cruise of the Greek islands. I needed a guide to things to do and see at each stop. What I got was a paragraph description of destinations with no detail, and many pages from the public relations department of various cruise lines telling me they were all great. Wasted space.

great reference A great reference for the Greek Traveler. It is too heavy to carry in your pack so plan to read it ahead of time for the areas you are going or leave it in the hotel room and read it the night before you leave for your trek.
